Artist Statement
My photographs are part of a visual journal of exploration, memoir and memory.
Over time, the journal has grown to include many interests and occasions. It mingles spontaneous portraits of family and friends with considered self portraits; scenes of public spaces with private interiors; and always, from the corner of my eye, objects of art- high and low.
From my visual journal, I construct personal and social narratives. Sometimes the photographs are all that is required; other times I combine image with text in artist books, mixed media pieces and multi-media formats.
